I’m really glad to hear this has worked for you. :) I’ve done a quick check and you’re correct, OTACerts.zip isn’t in system/app (I’ve amended the guide already)! My apologies, that’ll teach me to finally get around to writing the guide 3 months after I rooted my Kinde Fire, hehe. OTACerts.zip is originally located in System/ETC/Security. Hope it helps!

I found Plex the year I got my first Mac, in 2008. There wasn't a server application then, the install on your computer mainly served as a nice little HTPC-style interface for letting you browse through your media library. The addition of server features has opened up a lot of other options in the Plex app itself, and with it being a free solution, I've been extremely happy with it. Happy to share! I'd tried XBMC originally, but at the time I was only running my media from a MacBook so it didn't really make the most of the interface or features. Yep, Plex i completely free & I'm sure if you give it a go, you won't be sorry. Let me know how you get on or if you hit any difficulty, I'd be happy to help. :)

Nice looking app. I remember a little stirring initially when it was launched a few years ago but then heard nothing else since so I'd no idea Plex was still alive. This looks pretty effective on a basic level, thanks for the recommendation.

I've used XBMC for a long time, but I'm looking for a solution for my mobile devices. Plex is completely free you say? I'll try it out and see how it goes.

Sort of! The short of it: at the moment I've not had the time to sort out what I'd wanted to properly and I may actually be going with another solution as it'll let me involve Windows PCs as well as my Macs. Though I sympathise with not wanting to see the little fella go to waste, so I'm planning a post with a few suggested uses for an older Mac Mini. Thanks for stopping by TL, I hope you'll stop in again for the post you've helpfully spawned. :)

Ah, I'm afraid I sold it in January...or v early Feb I think. (Yep, it's been that long since your comment, I apologise!) The Antec Three Hundred's definitely a nice little case. Hopefully it'll do me a while longer yet, I don't quite have the budget to blow on a new build!

Hi there, apologies for the time taken to approve your comment. I'd come up with a worthy excuse, but in all honesty I've just been blonde and missed the few new ones awaiting moderation! Sorry!

The 7750's been great so far, RamblingEpic's had no complaints and he's been hitting up GW2 pretty heavily in the last 2 months. It's doing much better than my kinda dated 9600GTs in SLI! Good for a budget gaming system, or a beefy HTPC with some gaming on the side. Glad we have one. :)

When I rooted my own Kindle back in December 2012, I spent a bit of time reading through the XDA forums. There's some useful stuff there, but I hit a 3hr brick wall trying to get my Win7 PC to detect the Kindle as an ADB device and so couldn't carry on with the ADB commands via command prompt. A bit of creative driver editing later (read: 3hrs of hair-pulling and cursing!) and I finally got it working so I'm only too happy to try and spare anyone the headache. Glad it helped! :D

Aww, I'm really glad to hear it helped. My biggest issue was getting a driver installed to let Windows detect the Kindle as an ADB device. If this guide helped spare you some similar headaches then I'm thrilled to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to comment!

I spy game emulators, sweet! Please hurry up and get those guides up, I'm dying to test it out on my girlfriend's Kindle. If it works I'll totally be picking up the new HD one instead of shelling out for Nexus 7.

Nice swap out, but what did you do with your old 1200 when you were finished? I'm trying to find one under 100 quid as they still run expensive these days. The 300's a quality case, nice choice.

Yeah it put me off 2yrs ago when Apple dropped the base price of the MacBook in the US by $100 and increased it by £100 in the UK. They've continued to raise the price year on year with new models. Lol my hackintosh? That may be a long way off yet!

I seriously considered Apple until their recent prices went up. In AUS$ it's even more of a price hike than in the UK! Waiting to see how your hackintosh comes out girlie.
